UK Online Tea Merchants

November 26th, 2009

Being a smaller country than the US we’ve fewer tea merchants in the UK but those we do have are of the most excellant quality. I’ve put together a list of some of the best in case others have found it difficult to find tea merchants here in Britain.

  • Jing Tea - One of the biggest independent tea merchants in the UK.
  • Tea Palace London – A restaurant and cafe situated in Notting Hill, London this tea merchant has an exquisite selection of teas available and if you’re ever in London on holiday then its well worth a visit.
  • Canton Tea Co. – A London-based tea merchant specialising in Chinese teas. Their Tea School is great for tea novices.
  • The Tea House – They established themselves after the frustrating lack of quality green tea in the UK. Though they’ve now expanded to offer a range of ethically produced teas.
  • Miles Tea – A family-run tea and coffee merchant based in Somerset, England. They offer a modest selection of quality blended teas and a wide array of teaware.
  • Williamson Tea – A long-established tea merchant with farms in Kenya providing ethically grown teas as well as the usual Assams and Darjeeling.
  • All ABout Tea – Does exactly what it says. A site full of tea and teaware.
  • Nothing But Tea – Specialising in wholesale but also willing to provide to the general public.  I’ve yet to try these.
  • Grey’s Teas – A nice site with a good selection of teas and lots of information for new tea drinkers too.
  • Kent & Sussex Tea and Coffee Company - Can’t say I approve of their coffee selling antics but they do indeed sell tea too.

If you know of any other UK tea merchants who provide online purchasing of their range then please get in touch.
