As you can probably tell I’m a tea person. This shows a level of higher evolution, intelligence and social standing compared to coffee people………however I have begun to have some worrying feelings. Positive feelings towards coffee. Now obviously I’ve always had a taste for mochas but thats for the chocolate. To accuse me of being a coffee person just because I drank mocha would be like accusing a car driver of being a ’speed-o-meter person’. Clearly the fact a mocha has coffee in it is quite inconsequential. It adds function to the taste much like the speed-o-meter of the car but it doesn’t add any of the vital essence that tea intrinsically has.
Anyway, back to my problem. Today I’ve been having some worrying cravings. Cravings for coffee. I have an old jar of Asda Smartprice coffee which hasn’t been touched in over 2 years and I started to want a drink of it. It felt like a pervert craving a filthy, dark encounter down an alleyway. Not only is it coffee but its BAD coffee too. I’ve decided I must take good care to not get swayed by coffee and its like. PErhaps cutting down on the mochas as the small coffee content in these could be affecting my behaviour in a dangerous fashion.
I’ll keep you posted……

I recently bought this book from the local Ottakers store and I can safely say it is THE definitive book on the subject of sitting down, having a nice cup of tea and possibly a biscuit. The authors; Nicey and Wifey have managed to fill the book with pages upon pages of facts and information on the subject we all love. The biscuit section provides classifications reviews and history of some of the best known and even little known biscuits of the world. Want a history of the Bourbon? Its right there. How about some information on the Wagon Wheel? That’s there too.
Not only biscuits are discussed but subjects as diverse as “Tea in Public”, “Work Tea Making” and the science of dunking!
I recommend this book to not just people of tea but to EVERYONE in society today for it offers truth and honest discourse that will improve your life.
The authors website is available here: Nice Cup of Tea and a Sit Down

Some believe green tea to be ‘healthier’ than black tea. Personally I’m undecided on the subject, but what I do know is black tea has a much superior taste. This isn’t to say green tea isn’t good its just I prefer my tea black – preferablly Yorkshire.
Every now and then I do feel its necessary to have some green tea. Just to cover all the bases and make sure that, if green is healthier, I’m getting a good dose of it.
So today has been a green tea day. More specifically I’ve been having some fine tea all the way from China that a work friend got for me about a month ago. Its VERY refreshing but it still doesn’t have the same “aaaaarrrrrrrrrrr” effect that Yorkshire has.
Incidentally I wouldn’t recommend anyone tried green tea in bags! Every brand I’ve tried (Clipper, Twinnings) has ended up tasting more of tea bag than of tea! This just isnt on and so I’ve rebelled against the green bag and gone for the green leaf. Loose leaf green tea has always given a much nicer result and is often fresher than the bagged variety.
