Warning!! Tea Bags & Milk

October 15th, 2007

Tea Bag SteepingIts a sad day when you wake up to realise you’re surrounded by some of the worlds most heanous criminals and lunatics. Well thats precisely whats happened to me recently as I’ve found more and more people who believe adding milk to a cup of tea while a tea bag is still in the cup is a perfectly acceptable method for making the brew.

Personally I think it should be a capital offense but maybe I’m wrong – so I’m willing to reconsider my position on this subject. I’ve begun researching tea making methods throughout history as well as polling opinion from a variety of different tea merchants, shops, groups and companies across the world. As I gather this information I’ll report back with my results and a final verdict on this issue.

In the meantime I’d like all readers to vote in the poll to the left to give their opinion on the matter. Youc an also post a comment if you need to put a point across.

So long as the tea bag and milk are in together. Reason? If you make tea and take bag out before adding milk, you risk making a weak tea. By leaving tea bag in and adding milk, you can stir/brew until you get the tea just how you like it – this all applies to the single mug as adding milk to the tea in a teapot is ridiculous!

    Now, that’s a FACT!

Muz, you’re wrong, you leave the bag in for around 2 minutes, depending on desired strength, take it out and then add milk. the tea bag will clog with any liquid thicker than water and will take longer to get to the right strength.
